Administration Denounces 'Democratic Hoax' as Additional Jeffrey Epstein Photographs Disclosed
House Democrats have published a additional set of what they termed "alarming" pictures from the property of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring notably Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The first release of 19 images—a portion of which have been previously circulated—along with another 70 released later on Friday account for a tiny fraction of the almost 100,000 images provided to the House investigative panel, which is probing the behavior and associations of Epstein.
The shamed investor was a victim of an apparent self-inflicted death in a New York prison cell in 2019 after being indicted on sex-trafficking offenses.
Prominent Personalities in the Images
Featured among the high-profile individuals visible in the first release are celebrities such as movie maker Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin conglomerate.
Donald Trump appears in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is pictured with six women, whose faces are obscured.
White House Statement
The White House addressed the release in a statement, alleging Democrats of purposefully "hand-picking" the pictures for political purposes and to "try and create a false storyline."
"The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been consistently disproven," a White House spokesperson said, asserting that "the Trump administration has accomplished more for Epstein's victims than Democrats ever have by frequently urging openness, disclosing thousands of pages of records, and demanding additional probes into Epstein's liberal connections."
Democratic Lawmaker Comment
The photographs were published without context, but per a Democratic representative from California and ranking member of the oversight committee, they elicit additional doubts about Epstein's links with wealthy individuals.
"It is time to halt this White House obfuscation and secure justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his well-connected allies," he stated in a statement.
The release of these materials comes as the oversight committee proceeding with its investigation into the affair.
