Indianapolis Colts Face Atlanta Falcons in Berlin – Week 10 NFL Action

Hello, fussball fans. How are you? Everything good I hope on this excellent early start to the tenth week coming directly from Germany. Berlin's Olympic Stadium to be precise where at 8.30am CST/9.30am EST and 2.30pm GMT the mighty Colts (seven wins and two losses) take on the Falcons (three wins and five losses). The fifth game played on German soil and the first in the nation’s capital.

Pre-match Key Moments

When it comes to glittering attire that is an absolute belter from Katarina Witt on the opening flip. A minor slip from the broadcast team there as we hear “which team got the coin flip?” from the commentator with an unfortunately hot mic.

Well, the Colts have won the toss and have elected to receive. The Colts' offense will be taking the field soon. Can the quarterback recover after a difficult performance in Pittsburgh?

In a similar vein the vocalist performing the US national anthem has some of the largest shoulder pads you are bound to notice. The fashion picks are impressive today. We are almost underway after a choral number for the national anthem of Germany. Classy.

Opening Period Action

Scoreless at 13:30 in the first

Here we go! And we have early drama after Jonathan Taylor catches a screen pass, sweeps out for 15 yards to the right then loses the ball … only for his center to recover the fumble with the ball retrieval. Indianapolis quickly moves into Atlanta's half.

Still scoreless at 10:51

And the drama keeps coming as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The gamble fails to pay off as Josh Downs fails to catch a fastball from Jones. Prior to the failed attempt Jessie Bates put a huge hit on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. The Falcons have come out fighting on defense as they try and snap their three-game losing streak. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Score Updates

First score: Colts lead 6-0 at 8:36

Was that a missed touchdown by Kyle Pitts? The tight end drops a clanger, he was very open but the ball just swishes through his hands. That moment reflects the high draft pick's professional journey to date.

So far, so disappointing but it only deteriorates for the Falcons as they cough the ball back to the Colts on the 23-yard mark. Michael Penix Jr is sacked and can’t keep hold of the ball.

An agile 22-yard rush from Ashton Dulin sets the running back up to easily run for a touchdown on the next snap. Kicker Michael Badgley skews the extra point wide. Mistake.

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter

Penix Jr puts the fumble behind him by marching his Falcons down the field for a touchdown. Drake London makes some substantial catches to put them in the red zone then the seas part for Tyler Allgeier to run untouched into the end zone through the heart of the field for 13 yards. He completes the drive for a short scoring run of his own. The Falcons take the lead.

Other Tenth Week Games

Additionally, the full slate starting at 12pm CST/1pm EST/6pm GMT (with home teams first) is as follows:

  • (5-4) Carolina Panthers v Saints (1-8)

  • (5-3) Bears v New York Giants (2-7)

  • (3-5) Texans v Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3)

  • (2-7) Dolphins v Buffalo Bills (6-2)

  • (4-4) Vikings v Ravens (3-5)

  • (1-7) New York Jets v Browns (2-6)

  • (6-2) Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Patriots (7-2)

An exciting lineup. My pick for the best game is Minnesota and Baltimore playing out the game of the day.
