Previous BBC Consultants Participate in Parliamentary Inquiry After Allegations of Bias in Leaked Memo

Previous British Broadcasting Corporation consultants speaking in front of Members of Parliament

We start with questions from Conservative MP Caroline Dinenage, who oversees the panel.

She opens by giving details to the disclosed document written by Michael Prescott and published in a national newspaper.

"I do not desire the British Broadcasting Corporation tilting in any particular direction, My only wish is for it straight, unbiased and fair," he declares.

Upon being questioned if he believes the BBC is systematically partial, he responds: "No, I do not. It is important to note, a great deal the British Broadcasting Corporation does is top-tier - encompassing informative and non-factual content."

Nevertheless, he states: "There exists significant effort that must be undertaken at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

The second previous consultant BBC specialist interviewed by the group, Caroline Daniel, says she takes the BBC with great importance and that it maintains a "continuous process and active debate" across evolving and intricate subjects.

"Whether the BBC was willing to conduct a genuine dialogue and debate and implement changes?" she questions. "From my perspective, affirmative, they were."
