The British government is prepared to move forward with employing the total value of seized Russian funds to bolster the Ukrainian defense operations, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a shared declaration, the officials of the UK, France, and Germany emphasized that this joint measure would escalate tension on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel the Russian Federation to participate in talks.

They added that the initiative would be executed in close cooperation with the United States.

British penalties have blocked over £25bn of Russia's resources since Moscow began its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. However, up to this point, money sent to the Ukrainian government using Russian funds had solely been taken from profits and interest earned on them.

Sir Keir told President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and Germany were aligned in their aim to push forward toward employing the complete amount of the immobilized Russia's state assets to end the war.

He stated that additional restrictions soon would apply more pressure on Moscow.

This statement comes after European representatives met in Copenhagen recently to consider utilizing immobilized Russia's holdings for a €140 billion loan to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, US President Donald Trump urged Group of Seven partners to seize or utilize seized Russia's holdings, as reported by news outlets.

The total of seized Russian assets in the Europe is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

Russia launched large-scale missile and drone strikes all over the Ukrainian territory on recently, leading to blackouts in many areas of Kyiv, Kyiv, and eight other regions.
